…Big Brother is over.
Unfortunately our local lad fell at the last hurdle, but I think he acquitted himself well and was a credit to the town. We have been gaining a bit of a reputation as a ‘chav town’ and Eugene is possibly the least chavvy person you could expect to meet.
Tonight I actually watched the programme instead of waiting for reports on the web site. I have to say that Eugene appeared genuinely happy for Anthony at the end, which was nice to see.
Perhaps we will now stop getting e-mails from his mother reminding us all of the number to call to vote for him. One of our Labour councillors has also been sending out circulars to a distribution list of all councillors and Labour members.
The last email got this reply from one of our two Lib-Dem councillors
Sorry, but I’ve got a life to lead and more important things to do than this (such as watching paint dry) so I won’t be making any ‘phone calls on it.
Bah humbug indeed. And so much for the community spirit in Lib-Dem Land. Maybe he is jealous because Eugene has been in the local papers every week for the last two months and he has hardly had a mention.
