French Market

March 16th, 2006 · Posted by Skuds in Life · 1 Comment · Life

Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday there is a ‘French market’ in Lower Marsh. There is a normal market there every weekday, so tomorrow should be fun – there are signs up everywhere suspending parking in Lower Marsh for the day. Most of the parking is taken up with the vans belonging to the market stallholders.

I’m not quite sure what a French market is, so I will have to pop down tomorrow and have a look. I did ask one of the stallholders and he said its “a load of expensive cheese” but surely there must be more to it than that.

I would be happy if there was a stall selling DVDs of A Bout de Soufle or Zazi Dans Le Metro and CDs of CharleLie Couture and Niagara at normal Lower Marsh market prices, but I suspect it is going to be smelly cheeses galore and not cheap ones either.

Earlier this week I picked up a jumper and overcoat (Asda George brand) for Chas for a tenner, and you can find anything from external hard drives and power tools to 3D greetings cards and cheap razors. I’m quite happy with the English market so the French one will have its work cutout to impress me.

I desparately need to borrow a copy of Zazi Dans Le Metro today. Is there anyone who may have one?
